With any change in life, there is a loss. With loss, there is a process of grief. When we can allow our grief to be felt and explored, we can find what we need and heal.

Whether the change you’re experiencing is chosen or a surprise, it’s normal to have a complex mix of emotions and to feel unlike our usual selves.

I’m here to help you uncover what you’re experiencing and find what you need to restore a sense of connection to self, others and the world. You can feel confident and fulfilled in life again.

Common questions about therapy for grief and life transition

  • In our 50-minute sessions, we’ll talk about what challenges you’re currently experiencing. If there was an unexpected element to your life transition (such as a sudden loss), we may consider using trauma-informed approaches to help relieve the shock and distress of the change.

    If your life transition involves uncertainty about making a change, we’ll explore ways to connect with your sense of confidence in decision-making. Sometimes this involves learning about emotions and decision-making approaches, other times this involves mindfulness meditations that help you to connect with your inner wisdom and identify your values and needs.

  • With any change in life, there’s a loss that occurs. With loss, there’s a process of grieving. Each person’s grieving process is unique and therefore, the time it takes to navigate the emotions of grief may vary.

    Factors such as self-confidence and self-compassion impact how one navigates decision-making and life change. Together we’ll determine what’s most helpful to you as you navigate change.

  • While I can’t make any guarantees, client’s often express feeling more supported through life change when they have a safe space to process what they’re feeling. Trauma-informed therapy can help alleviate sticky feelings of grief and loss and assist clients in feeling more present.

    Compassionate grief therapy can also help clients feel more confident in themselves and their ability to make decisions and find new meaning.

  • The session fee is $250. We will meet weekly for the first month and then decide if we want to continue to meet weekly or biweekly.

    Payment can be made via cash, check, or card (including HSA). While I do not accept insurance, I can provide a superbill (receipt) which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement if you’d like.

  • Reach out today for a free 15-minute consultation call. On our call, I’ll ask you to give me a brief description of your circumstances and your goals. I’ll answer any questions that you have about what it would be like to work with me.

    We’ll then find a time that works in our schedules to meet in person (or virtually) for our first 50-minute session. From there, we’ll create our list of goals and determine how frequently we want to meet (usually weekly or biweekly).
