Hi, I’m Alexis Lane, LAC
EMDR Therapist | DBT Therapist
I help adults who have spent years holding it all together break free from anxiety, old patterns, and others' expectations so they can feel more connected, fulfilled, and confident in who they are.
If you're looking for an anxiety and trauma therapist in Phoenix, AZ, you're in the right place.
On paper, your life looks pretty good. You've built a career, meaningful relationships, and a life you worked hard for. You're responsible, capable, and usually the person everyone counts on. But somewhere along the way, you've started wondering why a life that looks so good doesn't always feel that good.
Maybe you're feeling restless, disconnected, or more anxious than you'd like to admit. You're tired of second-guessing yourself, managing everyone else's expectations, or feeling like you're just going through the motions.
I'm Alexis, and I help people who are used to having it all together finally make space for themselves.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Whether you're questioning the direction of your life, struggling to feel connected in your relationships, or carrying experiences you've never fully processed, therapy can help you understand what's keeping you stuck.
I believe that sometimes the very things that helped us succeed, like being responsible, independent, adaptable, or constantly putting others first, can eventually leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. These patterns often developed for good reasons, but they don't have to define the rest of your life.
My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. Rather than simply giving you another list of coping skills, I help you explore the experiences, beliefs, and relationship patterns that influence how you show up today. We'll make space for the harder emotions, challenge what isn't working, and figure out what you actually want moving forward.
The goal isn't to blow up the life you've built. It's to make sure there's room for you in it.
My Approach
Relational Therapy
Our relationships, especially our earliest ones, shape how we see ourselves and connect with others. Together, we'll explore the experiences and unconscious patterns influencing your relationships today, helping you build greater self-awareness, emotional intimacy, and more fulfilling connections.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process unresolved experiences so they no longer have the same emotional impact on your present life.
DBT
Sometimes understanding your emotions isn't enough. You also need tools to navigate them. I use DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) to help you regulate overwhelming emotions, tolerate discomfort, communicate your needs, and respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and intention.
I'm passionate about helping people build lives that feel as good on the inside as they look on the outside.
My training in EMDR, attachment-based therapy, and other evidence-based approaches gives me the tools to help you understand how past experiences influence your present. But beyond clinical training, I believe the relationship we build matters just as much.
I know how easy it can be to fall into the habit of doing what's expected, keeping the peace, and pushing through difficult emotions because there's always something else that needs your attention.
Sometimes, the hardest part isn't knowing that something needs to change. It's giving yourself permission to want something different.
When we work together, you won't have to have the right answers, put on a brave face, or pretend everything is fine. I'll bring warmth, honesty, and curiosity into our sessions, along with a willingness to gently challenge the patterns that aren't serving you.
You deserve more than a life that simply looks successful. You deserve one that feels meaningful, connected, and genuinely yours.

Beyond the therapy roomBefore becoming a therapist, my professional background included working in politics, an experience that deepened my curiosity about people, relationships, and what shapes the way we see the world. As a mom to teenagers, I also know firsthand how much life, relationships, and our identities evolve over time. Whether I'm navigating parenthood or sitting across from a client, I'm endlessly curious about what makes us who we are and how we can create meaningful change in our lives.
Frequently Asked Questions

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, though many clients find that they prefer 90-minute sessions. Where appropriate, I may recommend two-hour sessions, particularly when processing trauma with EMDR.
-
We see clients make the most progress when they can commit to weekly sessions. For the first month at least, we recommend scheduling weekly. Some clients may decide to push out their sessions to every other week after that first month.
-
This is a great question and depends largely on your story and the work you’ve done leading up to this point, as well as your level of commitment to growth. Many clients have shared that they experience some relief, insight, or growth after 6 months of regular therapy where they’re implementing shifts in their daily life outside of therapy.

Alexis’ session fee is $200 per 50-minute session for individuals and $250 per 50-minute session for couples and families.

As a specialty practice, I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide you with a superbill (like a fancy receipt) for therapy which you can submit to your insurance for potential out of network reimbursement. Not sure if you have out of network coverage? Check your benefits.
