Hi, I’m Meredith Clark
EMDR Therapist | IFS Informed
I help adults navigate burnout, parenthood, and identity shifts so they can move beyond survival mode, reconnect with themselves, and feel more grounded in who they are.
Looking for a Phoenix therapist specializing in burnout, identity, and perinatal mental health?
Maybe you remember a time when you had the energy to do things for yourself, when rest actually felt restful, and when you had a clearer sense of who you were. But somewhere between the responsibilities, expectations, and demands of everyday life, you've lost touch with that version of yourself. You're exhausted from holding everything together, your nervous system feels constantly on edge, and you're wondering when it gets to be your turn.
I'm Meredith, and I help people who have spent so much time caring for others, meeting expectations, and managing life's demands that they've lost touch with themselves along the way.
I help my clients navigate burnout, perinatal mental health challenges, and identity shifts by creating space to explore their needs, understand their emotional experiences, and reconnect with who they are beyond the roles they fill. Whether you're adjusting to parenthood, questioning gender expectations, or struggling to find balance, our work is about helping you feel more grounded and at home in yourself.
I believe that burnout and emotional overwhelm aren't simply problems to solve with better boundaries or another self-care routine. Often, they're connected to deeply ingrained expectations, relational patterns, and a nervous system that's spent too long in survival mode. Rather than telling you what you should do differently, I help you get curious about what's happening beneath the surface and discover what you actually need.
My approach combines compassion, curiosity, and nervous system regulation with deeper exploration of the experiences that have shaped your identity. Together, we'll work to understand the patterns keeping you stuck, create more space for your needs, and help you move through life with greater ease.
You don't have to keep pushing through, holding everything together, or losing yourself in the process. Therapy can be a place to find your way back to you.
My Approach
Identity Work
With a PhD in Gender Studies, I bring a unique perspective to how identity is shaped by expectations around gender, relationships, and caregiving. Together, we'll explore those influences and reconnect with who you are beyond what others need you to be.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process unresolved experiences so they no longer have the same emotional impact on your present life.
IFS
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself, building greater self-compassion, emotional balance, and inner connection.
I'm passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, find balance, and feel more grounded in who they are.
With a PhD in Gender Studies and specialized training in EMDR and attachment-based therapy, I bring a unique perspective to the ways our identities, relationships, and life experiences shape our emotional well-being. But beyond my credentials, I understand that you're looking for someone who truly gets how exhausting it can be to hold everything together while feeling disconnected from yourself.
I know how easily we can lose ourselves in the roles we fill, the expectations we carry, and the pressure to keep showing up for everyone else. Whether you're navigating the transition into parenthood, questioning your identity, or feeling stuck in a cycle of burnout, you deserve a space where your needs matter, too.
When we work together, you won't just get a therapist with specialized training. You'll get someone who approaches your experiences with genuine curiosity, compassion, and an understanding that healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about making space for who you already are.

Beyond the therapy roomIn addition to my clinical work, I teach at a local community college, where I enjoy connecting with students and supporting the next generation of professionals. Outside of work, you'll probably find me curled up with a good book, hitting the gym, browsing my local farmers market, or spending time with my kiddo and our two cats. I love finding a balance between staying active, slowing down, and enjoying the little moments that make life meaningful.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Sessions are typically 50 minutes, though many clients find that they prefer 90-minute sessions. Where appropriate, I may recommend two-hour sessions, particularly when processing trauma with EMDR.
-
We see clients make the most progress when they can commit to weekly sessions. For the first month at least, we recommend scheduling weekly. Some clients may decide to push out their sessions to every other week after that first month.
-
This is a great question and depends largely on your story and the work you’ve done leading up to this point, as well as your level of commitment to growth. Many clients have shared that they experience some relief, insight, or growth after 6 months of regular therapy where they’re implementing shifts in their daily life outside of therapy.

Meredith’s session fee is $200 per 50-minute session for individuals and $250 per 50-minute session for couples and families.

As a specialty practice, I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide you with a superbill (like a fancy receipt) for therapy which you can submit to your insurance for potential out of network reimbursement. Not sure if you have out of network coverage? Check your benefits.

If you’re ready to book your first session, you can request a spot on my calendar.
If you’d like to chat first, you can book a free intro call. We’ll talk about your goals and I can answer any questions you have to see if I’m the right fit.
If the vibes are right, we’ll book our first session. I’ll send over some paperwork online to complete before that first appointment.
